Speaking of Chute's recipes, here's a few more written in her own hand! They're in phonetically spelled English using Lithuanian spelling conventions (e.g. "jielo" = yellow; "čioklat čips" = chocolate chips). Chute and Tevuk's poor English and heavy accents were always something I found endearing. It made them

1 can red kidney beans
1 can bean sprout

1/3 cup vinegar
1/2 cup sugar (sounds a little sweet to me!)

Pistachio Sour Cream Cake
1 pack (18.5 ounce) yellow cake mix
1 pack Royal Instant pudding, pistachio
4 eggs
1 cup dairy sour cream
1/2 cup water or milk |
These things really make me smile, ear to ear, as if she was reading them aloud in her own poor English.
